JFK Parking and Park, Sleep and Fly: Airport Lots, Hotel Packages and What They Cost

Parking at JFK is expensive, scarce during the 2026 construction and, for anything beyond a day or two, cheaper at a hotel than at the terminal. The Port Authority’s own advice on its parking page is to prebook or take public transport; the hotels’ answer is a night’s sleep before a dawn flight with the car left behind for the week. Below are the airport’s rates as published in September 2026, the hotel packages that compete with them, and the shuttle logistics that make the hotel option work.

Airport lots

The Port Authority runs four lots you can drive into and one you must prebook. The terminal garages are the closest and the dearest: the Terminal 4 Blue Lot is $82 for 24 hours drive-up (from $66 prebooked), the Terminal 5 Yellow Lot $75 (from $59) and the Terminal 8 Red Lot $70 (from $56), all at $6 for the first half hour and a $12 rate for each further half hour once a stay passes three hours, until the daily maximum. The Long-Term Parking Lot by the Lefferts Boulevard AirTrain station is $45 for 24 hours drive-up or from $35 prebooked, and the Federal Circle Station Lot is prebook only from $45. Every lot is a free AirTrain ride from every terminal. Prebooking at least three hours ahead is the difference between the two prices and, on a busy day, between a space and a search; you may arrive up to two hours early on a prebooked ticket. Garages have height limits of 6 ft 4 in on some levels and 7 ft 6 in on others, drivers with a disability placard pay a $35 daily maximum, and a car left more than 30 days must be registered with ABM Parking or it is towed.

Park, sleep and fly at the TWA Hotel

The TWA Hotel is the only hotel where the car is parked on the airport itself. Its valet runs 24 hours with no reservation needed; with a hotel stay the overnight rate is $65 (out by 11:00 am), and the Park, Stay and Fly rate booked with the code PARKNFLY is $65 a night for the first two nights and $45 a night thereafter, for one to fourteen nights, so seven nights of parking cost $355 with a night in the hotel included, against $315 for seven days in the Long-Term Lot without one. Vans and anything larger than a Honda CR-V pay $10 a day more. The return is the AirTrain to Terminal 5, free.

Packages at the shuttle hotels

The Courtyard New York JFK Airport sells a Park and Fly package pairing a one-night stay with five consecutive days of parking in its gated valet lot, which is small, so book early; its standard valet rate is $50 a day. The Fairfield Inn New York JFK Airport lists park-and-fly packages on its site with parking otherwise at $45 a day, self or valet. The Hilton Garden Inn Queens/JFK Airport has secured self-parking at $45 a day and the Hampton Inn New York-JFK valet at $50. The Marriott New York JFK Airport and Residence Inn New York JFK Airport charge $55 valet ($65 oversized), and the DoubleTree by Hilton New York JFK Airport $56 including tax in a covered, secured garage with EV charging. Ask each hotel for a weekly rate when you book the room; several quote one that is not on the website.

How the shuttle fits

With a package you drive to the hotel the night before, leave the car, and take the hotel’s free shuttle to your terminal in the morning; on return you ride the AirTrain to Federal Circle and call the shuttle back. The 24-hour shuttle hotels (Marriott, Residence Inn, Courtyard, Hampton Inn, DoubleTree) cover any flight time; the Hilton Garden Inn (5:00 am to 11:00 pm) and Fairfield Inn (4:00 am to midnight) suit daytime departures and returns. Off-airport lots

The Port Authority lists two authorised off-airport operators, SmartPark JFK and AirPark JFK, both with their own shuttles and rates below the airport lots; ask where the shuttle drops, since the terminal-road ban applies to them as well. The Port Authority’s advice is to use only these two or its own lots, and it is good advice. For a week or more, compare an off-airport lot against a hotel package: once the package includes a night’s sleep and a free shuttle, the hotel is often the better value.

Tips

Prebook the airport lot every time; the drive-up premium is $10 to $16 a day and the space is not guaranteed without it. Photograph the level and row before you leave the car; the garages are large and the AirTrain drops you at a different door from the one you entered. Keep the parking receipt with your boarding pass, since the exit machines take a QR code. And if your trip is longer than three days, price a hotel package before you price the lot.
